Thus begins the long, tortureous off-season

So this weekend was the first since August 28th that there was no football on. (Ok, the Pro Bowl doesn't count as a game....if they did it later I'd be so desperate for football I'd watch it, but not now.)

The off-season has started. I know it's only been one week, and the Steelers won an amazing Super Bowl, but there are a few reasons why I'm missing football already. Today I was driving down Main Street, and I got an awesome view of Williams-Brice Stadium. Oh, and it was actually really warm today, so I had my windows down. It made me really miss going to games there. I wanted to tailgate right then.

What is there to do until college football starts back? Hmmm....well, NASCAR is starting soon. I'm usually really into that until football comes back, then it just drops off the face of the Earth. (For me at least.)

There's March Madness. That's awesome. But short. Last year I got into soccer and watched the Euro UEFA cup. But...then I found out that only happens every four years. Then the Tour de France. Last year was the first time I ever really watched it. I'm looking forward to that. Lance is coming back!

Even though Lance is coming back, it still doesn't compare to football at all. Football is the reason I look forward to the weekends so much. I love waking up at 10 AM to watch College Gameday on Saturdays. And it doesn't get any better than tailgating and going to watch the Gamecocks play, even though the game can sometimes be painful. But even if they let me down, I never get too depressed because the next day is Sunday. Sunday, when my Steelers play.

Sunday's are different than Saturdays. I'm not going to the game, for one, so there is less preperation. I go to church, go eat Taco Bell, and then I head back to my dorm to watch football for the rest of the day.

But now it's 1 PM. Kick-off time, and I'm sitting at my computer typing this. I just ate Taco Bell, which was awesome. But what do I do now???

I guess I'll just suffer through the doldrums I call summer. It's only 207 days until college football starts. Only 207 days....
